Hey, do you live here?
Yeah i like it. There aint nothin wrong with living here you know. My friends and my family live here. I used to live here, but my wife and I live over there now. Just a couple blocks away. But I come over here to my mom’s crib and to hang with my friends all the time. Its like a community you know. We know each other, there’s a school, I can go get groceries, and to eat and pray, its all right here. Its good. Yeah, its good.
By the way, they call this Little Africa. I dont know why.

Baby to Baby
He said ‘she don’t listen to me’ - but you know, he dont listen to her either! The money was on the floor and she say, ‘dont pick it up - its on the floor’ - and he is trying to pick it up! ‘It doesn’t matter’ - she say, the floor is in the car. ‘Dont pick it up - later’. She say to me ‘he dont listen to me!’ But she dont listen to him either, you know? He drop the money on the floor of the car - she hand him another twenty dollar bill - he is trying to pick up the money and say ‘Im getting the money off the floor,’ and she don’t listen to him. She gives a twenty dollar bill. You know? They dont listen to each other. Nobody listens to each other - they all just babies, not listening. They born, they grow up to be babies! They say ‘my money’, ‘this is my road’, and nobody listening because we all fighting. Baby to baby. And when we get old, we babies. They send they parents to the home. They parents are babies again and they send them to the home. Parents give them milk and take care when they babies… they dont want them now. And then they become old and so their children send them to the home, because they did to they own parents. And they dont want to be there. You Know? You take care of your parents okay? Yeah, you a good girl.

Yves Klein, Le Saut dans le vide, 1960
“But…
in the midst of creating something, alone
the main thing for them
is
to know
in the end that
truth does not exist
only honesty exists
it is
always in bad taste
since after all
honesty
in so far as it’s human
is only a set of learned
optical laws, etc. etc.
But
it becomes
life
life itself
the power this strange force of life
which belongs to neither you nor I nor anyone
life is life…
all that
I said there
everything I’ve just said
it’s to try to get closer to what I want to do tonight”
(excerpt from Yves Klein’s ‘Dialogue with Myself’)
